Jean C Harrison (formally Jean C Zollner) BEd. MEd. Studs.

Jean has a background in textile design. She completed her Bachelor of Education and Master of Educational Studies as a mature age student at the University of Tasmania where she developed a special interest in the neuro-anatomy of memory.

She went on to co-found 'Basic Concern', Tasmania's leading remedial centre.

Jean has lectured throughout Australia and New Zealand on 'Reading and Learning Difficulties' and co-authored a book with reading researcher Byron Harrison titled "Reading Through Tears". She has also contributed to published academic papers.

She is first and foremost a teacher. She currently teaches students on a one-to-one basis. All teaching is highly structured and sequenced and follows alphabetic principles. Her work on teaching resources is currently undergoing the publication process.


Byron G Harrison (F.S.M.C.)

Byron initially qualified as an optometrist but has many other interests.

He has been an honorary probation officer, a board member of Lifeline, a professional potter and a local government councillor. He has co-authored a book of prose and poetry and is one of Tasmania's top public speakers.

He has written papers and lectured to teachers on literacy throughout Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

He is Managing Director of VAS Research and a Director of VAS Systems, an educational software development company.
